In my modest opinion creating BP catalog is not a good option because you need to create a new item code for each business partner.
Hi also have this situation and I solved more or less like Prasanna said:
- I created a UDF in the Marketing Documents called "RealItem"
- In the Item Master Data, the item code is 1, 2, 3, ... and the Real Item Code I created a UDF.
- In all marketing documents I made 2 FMS. One in the Itemcode to get the itemcode when the user types the RealItemCode. Example the item code is 123 and the realitemcode is "ABC987". If the user press TAB he will get a list with the itemcode, if he press SHIFT+F2 he can type ABC987 and the FMS with retrive 123.
- Other FMS to retrive the RealItemCode.
- When I print the documents I show the RealItemCode.
